“CM Punk Was Sitting Home Retired”- A Twitter User Shared A Stat Proving How Much Difference One Year In Wrestling Can Make

CM Punk is one of the popular pro wrestlers on the planet. He has made a name for himself with his top-quality matches and fantastic mic work. Back in the early 2010s, he was an integral member of the WWE roster, and his storyline with John Cena was one of the best ones. The two Superstars also had some memorable matches during that feud.

However, soon after, Punk had a fallout with WWE, which led to his unceremonious exit from the company. He retired from pro wrestling, but fans at the arenas kept chanting his name when they did not like the product that WWE presented to them.

Last year, Punk finally returned to professional wrestling as he inked a deal with WWE’s rival promotion All Elite Wrestling. He made his first appearance on AEW Rampage’s debut episode. Since then, he has been a regular member of the AEW roster.

After building a winning streak, Punk captured the AEW World Championship last Sunday at Double or Nothing. He defeated Adam ‘Hangman’ Page to win the prestigious championship.

The life of CM Punk changed in a big way over the last one year

After CM Punk became the AEW World Champion, a Twitter user shared how in May 2021, Punk was at his home as a retired pro wrestle, and in May 2022, he is holding the AEW World Championship.

“Last May, CM Punk was sitting at home retired from pro wrestling. This May, he cried tears after winning the World Championship of AEW having his passion reignited for pro wrestling,” the tweet stated.

Punk is now expected to have a memorable reign as the AEW World Champion. It will be interesting to see which Superstar emerges as his first challenger. The new AEW World Champion will make an appearance on this week’s TV shows, with the hope of meeting his first challenger.
