Sasha Banks Is Japan Bound. She Is Done With WWE.

Sasha Banks is absent from WWE since May 2022. She and her tag team partner Naomi walked out of a live episode of RAW citing creative differences. They were the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time and were going to be in the main event match before they left the arena.

According to some reports, she is never returning to WWE. They may have even discussed her departure from the company sometime during the past few months.  Some reports say, she will not be allowed to wrestle till sometime in 2023 for WWE or any company. Reportedly, that’s a part of her deal before WWE releases her from contract.

Banks may not be able to wrestle but that doesn’t stop her from appearing at wrestling events. Which is exactly what she will do at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in Japan on January 4th. She is not booked to compete in a match at the PPV but might make a televised appearance. Sources also confirm that Sasha has verbally agreed to a deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).

Hiraoki Sawa, director of an international PR agency, confirmed her being in Japan this week in a since deleted tweet. He wrote “Sasha Banks, a female top wrestler who has surpassed 5.6 million Instagram followers… will be staying in Japan from the middle of this week… Hope to collaborate with Japanese brands…”

PWInsider has confirmed her for the Japanese mega show next year as well to be happening at the Tokyo Dome. There she will be making at least a cameo according to them. The event features a big match between IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI vs Japanese legend Tam Nakano. She should be making an appearance during that in some capacity.
