The WWE Royal Rumble has been one of thee biggest sports entertainment pay-pay-views in the history of the company. We have seen a lot of famous superstars make a big name for themselves in the Royal Rumble, but in 2018, the WWE changed the landscape of women’s pro wrestling, when they introduced the first-ever Women’s, Royal Rumble.
Multiple women have proved their caliber in the event, with Asuka being the first-ever winner for the prestigious battle royal style event. Today we will be looking at a few of the biggest names in women’s pro wrestling that surprised the viewers and made fans jump out of their seats as the timer hit zero, and they made their way towards the squared circle.
#5 Lita (Royal Rumble 2018)
Lita has been one of the biggest names in the world of women’s pro wrestling. She was a household name during the 2000s, as she had multiple big feuds with Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus. Lita was also involved in high-profile storylines alongside superstars such as Edge, Kane, Matt Hardy just to name a few. After announcing her retirement from the world of sports entertainment, very few expected her to return to the squared circle.
When the timer hit zero, and Lita walked out of the curtains as the number fifth entrant for the Women’s Royal Rumble, the crowd at Wells Fargo Center erupted into cheers. The Hall of Famer outlasted for almost six minutes inside the Royal Rumble and eliminated now NXT Women’s champion, Mandy Rose and Tamina to mark her return to the squared circle.

Kairi Sane was one of the hottest free agents in the world of women’s Pro Wrestling in 2017-18. The Japanese superstar had a great showing in the Mae Young Classic and had attracted the attention of the top brass at WWE, who were in awe of her skills and in-ring performance.
“The Pirate Princess” walked out at number six to a big ovation from the crowd, and outlasted for almost five minutes inside the Royal Rumble, while the superstar had no eliminations to her name and was eliminated by Dana Brooke, fans and officials were very pleased by her work.

Rhea Ripley became the first-ever NXT UK superstar to make an appearance inside the Royal Rumble, the Australian was one of the “most pushed” superstars in NXT’s United Kingdom division, and fans at Chase Field, Phoenix, Arizona were more than shocked to see Rhea enter the Royal Rumble.
Rhea joined the fray at number twenty-one and was a part of the event for almost eight minutes, Rhea had a semi-dominant run inside the Rumble as she eliminated three other competitors and went head-to-head with Charlotte Flair. It was WWE’s way of showing that Rhea could be one of the biggest names in the coming future.

The Canadian paved the path for the future generation of ladies who wished to make a career in the industry. She had various high-profile feuds with Lita, Micky James, Sable, and many other women who defined female sports entertainment back in the 2000s.
Trish entered the Royal Rumble in 2018 and the thirtieth spot and the fans were out of their seats, chanting for the Hall of Famer. Trish had three eliminations in the Rumble, that included her long-time rival, Micky James and Natalya, she outlasted for five minutes and thirty-five seconds before being eliminated by Sasha Banks.
