Stephanie McMahon Quit WWE. Vince Is The Chairman Again.

Stephanie McMahon resigned recently after the return of her father Vince, back to the company. Vince was selected back as the Chairman of the Board in a unanimous decision.

After resigning, Stephanie issued an official statement on her twitter. It included her writing “I look forward to cheering on WWE from the other side of the business,”.

She was the co-CEO and chairwoman since July last year sharing the post with Nick Khan. Vince supported his daughter’s decision and said “Stephanie has always been the ultimate ambassador for our company, and her decades of contributions have left an immeasurable impact on our brand,”. We don’t know the exact reason for Steph’s resignation yet. However, since Vince’s return 3 board members had to resign as well to make room for him and 2 other board members. The three resigned board members are JoEllen Lyons Dillon, Jeffrey R. Speed and Alan M. Wexler. The two that joined back with Mr. McMahon are Michelle Wilson and George Barrios.

Mr. McMahon had to forcefully retire from his Chairman post after proof of his sexual misconduct surfaced in the open. It was revealed in an investigation that he had paid nearly $15 million to four women in the form of hush money. Even though he had retired, the 77 year old was and still is the controlling shareholder of the company. He has reportedly returned to help the sale of WWE to a potential buyer. WWE has hired the services of JPMorgan Chase & Co., the financial services giant, to help them in this massive sale. The deal is going to happen in the next three to six months. WWE plans to approach potential buyers before they renew their TV rights agreements.

Stephanie recently went through a successful ankle surgery after resigning. She was a part of WWE since the 1990s both on-screen & off-screen. She participated as a wrestler in many matches just like her father. The father-daughter duo even faced each other in an “I Quit” match which Vince won.
