Former 2-time WWE Universal Champion Goldberg recently praised The Rock for his contributions to the pro wrestling industry. The Myth believes that Dwayne Johnson is the biggest entertainer ever to have stepped inside the squared circle.
Goldberg recently fought against The Rock’s cousin Roman Reigns at the WWE Elimination Chamber premium live event. The Universal Championship was on the line in that match, but the legend failed to defeat Roman in that match. He lost by submission only for the second time in his career.
Many fans think that the former Universal Champion will retire from WWE soon. In a recent interview with Dr. Beau Hightower, Goldberg appreciated the WWE legends for taking the company to such a high level.
“If it wasn’t for (Hulk) Hogan, the business wouldn’t be what it is. Ric Flair, the same thing. Dusty Rhodes, the same thing. Modern-era, obviously The Rock is the biggest entertainer that’s ever graced the wrestling ring,” said Goldberg.
Will Goldberg wrestle another match in his WWE career?
The former WWE Universal Champion had clarified that he only had one match left in his WWE contract, which he wrestled against Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber. Given that he has been a special attraction performer at the Saudi Arabian shows, it is possible that the WWE may re-sign him and book him for a few more years.
However, one must also consider that Goldberg is not so young now. He is not so agile, and his latest match against Roman Reigns did not live up to the expectations. But at the same time, the Myth attracts a lot of fans to the product, which is why Vince McMahon might be tempted to offer him another big money contract.
