At AEW Full Gear that concluded last Saturday, The Elite returned to challenge Death Triangle for the AEW Trios Championship. Their suspension stands officially lifted now. AEW suspended them along with CM Punk & Ace Steel in September after their backstage brawl, now called “Brawl Out”. Punk is injured as well and is still suspended whereas Steel was released. PAC, Rey Fenix & Penta won the Trios champions in a tournament after The Elite relinquished the titles following their suspension.
In the well fought back and forth match, Death Triangle was successful in retaining their titles. The win wasn’t clean though, as Rey Fenix reluctantly cheated by using a time keeper’s hammer on Kenny Omega. PAC ordered him to use the hammer which he initially refused, but eventually gave in. Omega was going for his finisher, The One Winged Angel on Fenix. As he lifted him up, PAC gave his team member the hammer, which Fenix then struck Omega with and pinned him successfully.
The match had some highlights apart from the in ring action. The Elite debuted their new entrance music, the popular 70s song “Carry on Wayward Son” by Kansas.

Also there were “Fuck CM Punk” and “Colt Cabana” chants throughout the arena.
They had a rematch during this week’s Wednesday Night Dynamite but The Elite were unsuccessful yet again. The timekeeper’s hammer showed up during this match too. Now they are 2-0 in the best of 7 series for the Trios titles.
This match had many mocking references to CM Punk for the pro Punk Chicago crowd. Like Nick Jackson intentionally botching the Buckshot Lariat like Punk did once and Omega using the GTS on PAC. He even bit PAC’s arm at a point like Ace Steel allegedly bit his during the brawl.

Punk is expected to leave the company as the locker room is up in arms against him. AEW may also buy out the remaining duration of his contract.
