John Cena’s Next Match Confirmed. SmackDown Is Closing The Year With A Bang.

As an year end surprise for fans, WWE is set to deliver big time. They have announced the return of John Cena to be happening very soon. On the latest SmackDown, his appearance was confirmed for the last episode of the blue brand for the year. Cena himself appeared live on the show as well.

Roman Reigns made a rare appearance on SmackDown too this week. In the last segment of the show, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion made his way to the ring with his Bloodline. He cut an in ring promo pointing out the persisting problem of Kevin Owens that plagues The Bloodline. Reigns was talking about the December 30th tag team match that will happen between him and Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens and a mystery opponent.

Right then, the Leader of the Cenation appeared on the titantron and read out a text message from Owens. He revealed that Owens called him Peacemaker and sent a bunch of funny emojis. Then asked him in the text if he would like to keep his 20 year streak alive of wrestling each year. To this John accepted to be Owens’ tag team partner on the final episode of the year and told everyone that “Cena Claus” was coming to town.

This future appearance will mark his second WWE in-ring appearance in 2022 after June. He had returned then on RAW to celebrate his 20 year anniversary in WWE. Cena had only cut a promo back then without any action. His last match in WWE was in the main event of the Money In The Bank PPV in July, 2021. He lost a WWE Universal title match to Roman Reigns back then.

Cena is a main stream Hollywood superstar now. He starred in and as “Peacemaker” in the DC series on HBO Max this year. Next year in February-March, he will be shooting for a movie in Australia. The movie also stars Zac Efron.
