WWE Title Thrown In The Trash. Potentially Scrapped.

The 24/7 Championship looks finished. On the latest RAW episode, it was literally thrown in the trash.

Since the beginning of the Triple H regime, the parody title was not defended, appearing only on live events. It was basically a comedy championship which anyone could win anywhere. It mostly gave jobbers an opportunity to appear on TV.

Dana Brooke was the reigning 24/7 champion, having won it last time on October 30th from Tamina at a WWE Live event. The 15 time 24/7 champion was defending her title on RAW against Nikki Cross and lost. Nikki became an 11 time 24/7 champion with this win.

Cross has recently gone back to her crazy gimmick which she had when she was with SAnitY. She was Nikki A.S.H. before this in her Almost A Super Hero gimmick, which was her most successful gimmick. Last year she won the Women’s Money In The Bank contract and RAW Women’s Championship by cashing it in the same night, but lost it at SummerSlam 2021. For the past months, she had a run of losses & recently started showing signs of frustration, before going “unhinged”. Since then, she has allied herself with Damage CTRL and was a key factor in having Alexa Bliss and IYO SKY win back the Women’s tag team titles from Asuka and Alexa Bliss at Crown Jewel.

After winning the 24/7 title on RAW, she dropped the belt in a trashcan backstage while in an absent minded state, indicating that the parody title maybe done for after 3.6 years. While dropping the title, she missed the trashcan and it fell on the side providing a hilarious botch.

She tweeted about this as well. Her husband, former WWE wrestler Killian Dain, had a hilarious tweet on the incident: “She never played basketball i dont know what to tell you”

Her opponent Dana Brooke had a more emotional tweet: “Everything I have worked for & tried to elevate… LITERALLY IN THE TRASH! #wwe @WWE @USA_Network”
