The Internet Goes Wild As The Rock’s Daughter Makes a Surprise Debut on NXT

The Schism’s fourth member was revealed on the latest episode of NXT, just like they had promised earlier. To the wrestling world’s shocking surprise, it was Ava Raine, the real-life daughter of The Rock. Her actual name is Simone Johnson.

The faction has been teasing the arrival for weeks now. In recent past episodes, a stranger in a red hooded gown started appearing in the crowd and other places. The stranger used to follow Gacy and the other two around. During Halloween Havoc, the cult had promised to reveal their fourth member on the next NXT, which they have done.

The Schism’s Joe Gacy, Rip Flower, and Jagger Reid came out wearing smiley masks on NXT. Raine, also in the mask and the red gown, was accompanying them. She revealed herself when Gacy asked her to remove the mask.

She said that her new family, The Schism, completes her and has even tweeted this out.

Ava Raine signed with WWE in February 2020 and WWE filed a trademark for her name in May this year. Soon after, she changed her Twitter handle to it. This led to speculations about her debut.

However, some industry experts had other thoughts about The Rock’s daughter not using her famous surname and WWE not capitalizing on her stardom. She gave her thoughts on this issue in the following tweet.

Ava made her actual debut in July at an NXT Live event in Orlando, Florida. She wasn’t involved in any in-ring action but cut a promo addressing the women’s locker room. Raine said, “I am Ava Raine and I am The Final Girl” to end that promo and has since cut promos at other Live events as well.

We are yet to see how good or bad of a performer she is in the ring. Being the next generation of the most prolific pro wrestling family, the Anoa’I family, she has some big shoes to fill.
