AEW Superstar Ricky Starks recently shared a lesser-known story about himself and the reigning WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Back in 2018, Starks made an appearance for WWE on RAW, where he showed up as a US Marshal and arrested Roman. It was a TV segment that got a lot of attention.
However, during the segment, Roman Reigns accidentally hit Starks harder than he should have. Once the segment was shot, Roman went to Ricky and apologized to him, even though it would have been okay had he not apologized to the WWE extra.
In a chat with Brandon Walker of Barstool Wrasslin’ recently, Ricky Starks recalled that incident and said:
“Everything was cool, he had to put these cuffs on and they were really tight, and he goes, ‘hey man, I can’t do anything when I got my hands cuffed, so sorry ahead of time’.”
After the segment, Roman Reigns went to Ricky and apologized to him once again. He had already apologized to him before the segment on WWE RAW.
Roman Reigns, is set to defend his title against Brock Lesnar at WWE Day 1
The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns will be in action at the upcoming pay-per-view of WWE titled Day 1. It will happen on January 1, 2022. The company has announced a blockbuster main event for the WWE Universal Championship, where Reigns will go one-on-one with The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar.
The two Superstars have crossed paths many times in their WWE careers. Their most recent match happened at WWE Crown Jewel, where Brock lost to Roman thanks to an interference from the Usos. It will be interesting to see what goes down when the two stars lock horns at Day 1. According to former WWE Manager Dutch Mantell, Paul Heyman could turn on Roman and re-align with Brock Lesnar at the pay-per-view, meaning there could be a title change.
