New member of the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) roster Keith Lee recently recalled a brilliant advice that he received from the Undertaker during the early days of his career. The Deadman is reckoned by many as the greatest of all time in WWE history. He made a huge impact on the business and even helped others around him grow.
The Undertaker gave advice to the rising stars from his experiences. One of the youngsters who got an opportunity to speak with the Undertaker was Keith Lee. The former NXT Champion recently shared the incident on AEW Unrestricted Podcast.
Recalling how the Undertaker told him to do anything for a meaning, Lee said:
“He [The Undertaker] told me years and years ago, in this life whatever it is I choose to do, I need to make sure it means something, don’t do anything for nothing, always make it mean something. That has actually helped me climb.”
Keith Lee worked hard to add meaning to his matches in the indies
For almost every professional wrestler, the road to the bigger wrestling promotions starts from the indies. The same journey was for Keith Lee who wrestled in the indies before making it to WWE and then to AEW.
Lee always worked hard to make his matches in the indies mean something. Soon after, he joined WWE and became the face of the NXT brand. He became the first Superstar in the company’s history to hold the WWE NXT Championship and the NXT North American Championship together.
However, his main roster run was not successful. He defeated Randy Orton on his premium live event debut and even challenged for the world titles. But soon after, he was released from the company. After that, he joined AEW and is undefeated in singles matches as an AEW Superstar.
