“From An OVW Classmate”- John Cena Sends A Heartfelt Message To Batista On His WWE Debut’s 20th Anniversary

In this week 20 years ago, Batista made his WWE debut. Nicknamed as The Animal, Batista achieved significant success in WWE. Speaking about his achievements, he won the WWE Championship two times, the World Heavyweight Championship four times and also won the tag team championships four times.

One of his four tag team title reigns came with John Cena. Both Superstars started their journeys together in OVW and then transitioned into WWE successfully. Both Superstars achieved enormous success in this business and have now transitioned into Hollywood.

Recently, WWE announced a special celebration on social media to celebrate 20 years of Batista’s debut. Two decades ago, The Animal announced his arrival in the company before dominating his way to the top.

His last match came against Triple H at WrestleMania 35, where he suffered a defeat and announced his retirement from in-ring competition.

John Cena heaps praise on Batista as he celebrates his WWE debut’s 20th anniversary

Taking to Twitter, John Cena sent a heartfelt message to his former tag team partner and wrote:

“20yrs ago @DaveBautista began turning skeptics into believers. Crafting a remarkable legacy in @WWE and continues to amaze with his incredible work as an actor. He’s outspoken, honest & 1 of the nicest, most giving people I’ve ever met. Happy 20yrs from an OWV classmate. Cheers!”

As mentioned ahead, The Animal has announced his retirement from WWE. He was going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but he turned the offer down. Given the success that he achieved in his WWE career, it should not be a surprise if The Animal is inducted into the Hall of Fame soon.

On the other side, John Cena is likely to make his return to WWE later this year. He might challenge Theory for the United States Championship at the WWE SummerSlam show.
