In a heartbreaking development for the WWE Universe, former 2-time WWE Champion Bobby Lashley might not make it to this year’s WrestleMania. According to reports, Lashley is currently having a shoulder injury, which is why he did not participate in the Elimination Chamber match physically last weekend.
Lashley has been one of the top guys in the WWE since the last two years. After separating with Lana, Lashley joined hands with former WWE United States Champion MVP and started his journey to the top of the mountain.
Inside one year, Bobby Lashley won the United States Championship and the WWE Championship alongside MVP. He also formed his own faction named The Hurt Business, featuring Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. Shelton and Cedric became WWE RAW Tag Team Champions during their time with Lashley.
Lashley opened WrestleMania 37 and successfully defended his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre. He lost his title to Big E before regaining it at the Royal Rumble premium live event by defeating Brock Lesnar thanks to an interference from WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Reason why Bobby Lashley did not wrestle after Royal Rumble Premium Live Event
Bobby Lashley’s match against Brock Lesnar did not live up to the expectation and hype of the dream match, but now fans know why. The All Mighty was suffering from an injury which did not allow him to give his 100%.
He did not wrestle on RAW episodes after winning the title and was taken out of Elimination Chamber with a kayfabe concussion angle. Here’s what former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide said on The Ringer Wrestling:
“I have under good authority that Lashley is shoot hurt and has been hurt since the Rumble match. If you’ve noticed, he hasn’t worked any Raw’s. From what I’m told, it’s for at least 4 months. Shoulder surgery. I’m hearing that he might not even make it to Mania.”
