Darby Allin has quickly become one of the most popular names in the world of professional wrestling. He is currently a part of the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) roster, and in his brief career, Allin has given many memorable matches to the fans. Most notably, he was CM Punk’s first opponent after his return to pro wrestling.
Recently, Darby Allin participated in an AMA session with Bleacher Report. During that session, Allin was asked about his dream opponent in AEW. He quickly named former WWE Champion Bryan Danielson. Explaining the reason behind it, Allin pointed out that the new AEW Superstar does not have ego.
He detailed the reason and pointed out that Bryan Danielson is ready to wrestle on any show. He was not someone who only wrestles on PPVs, but he steps inside the ring on Dark and Dynamite. Here’s what Darby said:
“When we go to Seattle, Bryan Danielson. The fact that he has no ego with us: he can wrestle on Rampage. He can wrestle on Dynamite. He can wrestle on Dark. There’s no ego. He’s not like the type that’s, ‘I only wrestle on pay-per-views.’ It’s like, ‘No, I’m going to wrestle every single weekend.’ I want someone that’s hungry like that to wrestle against myself.”
Seattle is the hometown of Darby Allin
While naming Bryan Danielson as his dream opponent, Darby also mentioned that he would love to have the match in Seattle, which is his hometown. Interestingly, Bryan was also born in Washington.
Given the popularity and the skills of these two pro wrestlers, it should not be a surprise if they deliver a Match of the Year candidate whenever they cross swords. Darby Allin wrestled MJF at AEW Full Gear recently and suffered a defeat. Meanwhile, Bryan is yet to lose a singles match in AEW.
