However, one year before that, some rumors claimed Randy Orton was heading to All Elite Wrestling. His contract with the WWE had expired then. Even Orton himself teased leaving the company. However, as per Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Orton did not move to AEW because he did not get the contract that he expected.
2. Edge
Edge is a WWE Hall of Famer. Sadly, he had to retire in 2011. However, he came back in 2020 by entering the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant. Edge is a multi-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He could have changed the game for AEW.
According to WrestleVotes, Edge had a conversation with AEW before making his in-ring return in the WWE. Later, Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin disclosed that Edge received a massive contract from AEW that would allow him to wrestle and be a producer. However, Edge committed to the company that gave him so much fame.
3. Former WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar was recently rumored to join AEW
Brock Lesnar is one of the few WWE Superstars to have won the Universal Championship multiple times. He is a future WWE Hall of Famer. Also, he has main-evented several big PPVs of the WWE. However, as per reports, Lesnar has not signed a new contract with WWE as of now.
Last week, a rumor emerged claiming that a “reliable 20-year source” stated Lesnar had inked a deal with All Elite Wrestling. However, Andrew Zarian declared that the rumors were not true. Speaking on the Mat Men Podcast, Andrew said Brock had not signed with AEW.
4. CM Punk
CM Punk has retired from pro-wrestling. He returned to the WWE Backstage show on FOX last year as an analyst. However, he has not participated in a pro-wrestling bout for long. Punk’s return is something that almost every pro-wrestling fan wants.

5. Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan had a story like Edge. He was forced to retire during his prime because of injuries. However, he made his way back to the ring after a long hiatus. Bryan recently main-evented WrestleMania 37 and then got banished from SmackDown after losing a match to Roman Reigns.
Bryan has not appeared on the WWE shows since then. Bodyslam.net reported that Daniel Bryan denied signing another contract with the Vince McMahon-owned wrestling promotion. The former WWE Champion is now heading to All Elite Wrestling.
