“I salute you John Cena”- Alberto El Patron reacts after SummerSlam

Alberto El Patron, formerly known as Alberto Del Rio, heaped praise on his former WWE rival John Cena after the SummerSlam pay-per-view event. At SummerSlam, Cena faced the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a title match. Many fans expected that Cena would win his 17th world title in the WWE at the Biggest Party of Summer.

However, Cena disappointed his fans by falling short against The Tribal Chief. In an epic match at Allegiant Stadium, Cena lost to Roman Reigns. After the match, the Doctor of Thuganomics sent a message to his fans on Twitter. He wrote that his journey will take him away from the WWE now.

In case you didn’t know, John Cena returned at WWE Money in the Bank 2021 to challenge Roman Reigns. After his return, WWE announced the Summer of Cena. John wrestled in many cities and at various live events. He even appeared on WWE TV regularly as well.

“My eternal rival, John Cena , said goodbye today to the fans of wrestling to dedicate himself to his many projects outside the ring. Good to know that he was able to return in another position and bring more eyes to our industry. I salute you John!” Alberto El Patron tweeted after John Cena’s loss. 

Brock Lesnar destroyed John Cena after SummerSlam went off the air

John Cena was in the ring even after SummerSlam went off air. Brock Lesnar made his shocking return to the WWE after Roman Reigns defeated Cena. While Roman retreated after seeing Lesnar, Cena was still in the ring.

Lesnar decided to entertain the fans at Allegiant Stadium by taking Cena to Suplex City. He ended the destruction with an F5. WWE has advertised both Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar to appear on this week’s SmackDown. It seems fans will witness a title match between the two stars soon.
