Roman Reigns makes a bold statement about Universal title

Reigning WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns believes his reign has helped the Universal title become the number one title of the WWE. Earlier, some fans believed that the company will keep the WWE Championship as the richest prize for the wrestlers, but gradually, the belief has changed. Now, it seems, the WWE Universal Championship is the most important one.

The reigning Universal Champion, the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns asserted the same during his recent appearance on WWE’s The Bump. Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship for the first time in his career at the SummerSlam 2018 PPV event. He had defeated Brock Lesnar to become the new Universal Champion on RAW.

Unfortunately, he had to relinquish the title soon because of Leukemia. But now finally, he is having a fantastic reign as the champion of the SmackDown brand. Roman won the Universal Championship for the second time in his career at Payback in 2020.

Just recently, Roman Reigns headlined WWE SummerSlam 2021 at Allegiant Stadium in a blockbuster main event match against John Cena. After successfully defending his title, here’s what The Head of the Table had to say:

“I put the work in and I made it special and now everybody wants it . . . I think the Universal Championship is just not the number 1 title if the Tribal Chief doesn’t make it what it is and it won’t ever be the same.”

What’s next for Roman Reigns?

Roman Reigns will now set his eyes on Brock Lesnar who made his return at SummerSlam 2021. Reigns can also face a challenge from Finn Balor whose challenge he had accepted before John Cena rushed to sign the contract. The upcoming SmackDown episode should be an exciting one.

Also in attention with Paul Heyman. He is the special counsel to the Head of the Table, but before that he was the advocate of The Beast, Brock Lesnar.
