5 Superstars Who Deserved To Win Royal Rumble Match But Never Won

WWE Royal Rumble is one of the most popular gimmick matches of the pro wrestling world. The match generally features 30 Superstars. The rule of the match is that two Superstars start the match, and after a pre-determined fixed interval, a new Superstar joins them in the ring. This process continues until all 30 Superstars have entered the match.

The rule for elimination is simple. The Superstar needs to be tossed from above the top rope and both feet must hit the floor in order to secure an elimination. The eliminated Superstars have to return to the back, but we have seen many times that they come back to avenge their elimination sometimes. It is a no disqualification match.

WWE Royal Rumble 2022 will happen soon, and many fans think Drew McIntyre deserves to win the 30-man match. However, not every time does the deserving Superstar gets the big win at the 30-man event. Here’s a look at the five Superstars who deserved to win the Rumble, but never won.

1. Kane – Undisputed King of Royal Rumble

WWE Hall of Famer Kane ruled the Royal Rumble matches with his elimination skills. He knew how to perform well in the 30-man gimmick match.

Surprisingly though, Kane never won a Royal Rumble match despite eliminating so many Superstars in his legendary WWE career.

2. Kofi Kingston

Another WWE Superstar who is famous for his antics in the Rumble is Kofi Kingston. He always finds a new way to save himself from elimination.

However, his creativity has never helped him win a Royal Rumble match in his career.

3. Chris Jericho

‘The 61-Minute Man’ Chris Jericho made a name for himself by being the Iron Man in the Royal Rumble matches.

He would enter early and manage to survive for a long period in the 30-man matches of his career. However, he never won one.

4. Dean Ambrose – Should have won Royal Rumble 2016

Fans were madly behind Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose) in the year 2016. He was in the last 2 of the Rumble match.

It was for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. However, WWE did not push him and Triple H won that bout.

5. Big Show

Big Show almost won the Royal Rumble in 2000. However, The Rock was controversially named the winner of the match.

Like Kane, Big Show was very dominant in these types of matches, but he never stood tall when all was said and done.
