Bray Wyatt Has His First Match Since His Return At An Iconic Venue

Bray Wyatt recently had his first match in WWE since returning at Extreme Rules in October. The match wasn’t televised though as it was at a WWE Live event.

On Monday Night, instead of RAW tapings, WWE had the “Best of 2022” show where they presented the best matches and moments of the year. This was because WWE was doing a Live Event at the Madison Square Garden in New York on Monday night.

Jinder Mahal was upset at being left out of the ladder match for the Inter Continental championship that night. He issued an open challenge for any competitor to face him and it was accepted by Bray Wyatt. Wyatt made his way to the ring in his usual style with his lamp in hand for the first time for a match. He displayed his ring gear in front of the audience for the very first time as well. It was a short match that Wyatt won via his Sister Abigail finisher.

Bray seemed a little emotional following the match and the crowd loved him back in the ring. They reportedly chanted “This is Awesome” for his win in his return match after over an year. His last match was against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37 in April 2021 which he had lost. He was shockingly released a couple of months after that.

A small botch happened at the time of Wyatt’s entrance where he tripped a little on the ramp. It was captured on a fan video as well.

On the “Best of 2022” show televised this Monday, WWE advertised a unique match starring Wyatt and Edge. It is called the Pitch Black match and they have been running ads for it on their YouTube channel as well. While nothing much is known about it, by name it seems it will happen in the dark. The one of a kind, first time match is scheduled to happen at the Royal Rumble 2023.
