Wrestling Movie The Iron Claw’s First Look Revealed. Zac Efron Looking Jacked.

Zac Efron, the Hollywood actor, is playing the 80’s wrestler Kevin Von Erich in a movie called The Iron Claw. The movie is based on the famous Von Erich wrestling family. The Iron Claw is the family’s finishing move. They have all used it over the years.

Efron’s new bulked up look has gone viral on social media. He is already a muscular chap but had to put on a significant amount of muscle to look like Kevin for the role.

 

The story of the biopic is about the infamous family consisting of Fritz Von Erich and his six sons. All have passed away except Kevin. Fritz’s five sons died tragically from unnatural causes.

His first son Jack, aged 6, died after he was electrocuted and drowed in a puddle.

The third son David died under mysterious circumstances in Japan, allegedly from enteritis. Some of his fellow wrestlers believe it was a drug overdose. David’s daughter died at infancy too.

The fourth son Kerry committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest. The most well-known of the Von Erichs, Kerry even won the WWE (then WWF) Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam 1990. His daughter Lacey is a retired pro wrestler as well.

The fifth son Mike died of a tranquilizer overdose after an injury.

The sixth son Chris committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after suffering from mental depression.

Fritz Von Erich (real name Jack Adiksson), aged 68, passed away from cancer. All 5 of his sons had deceased before him. This extremely tragic chain of events afflicting the family are together called the Von Erich Curse.

Kevin Von Erich’s sons Ross and Marshall are pro wrestlers as well with Major League Wrestling. He accepted WWE’s Hall Of Fame induction of his family in 2009.

The movie also has popular actor Holt McCallany as the family’s patriarch Fritz. Playing Kevin’s brothers are Jeremy Allen White as Kerry Von Erich, Harris Dickinson as David Von Erich, and Stanley Simons as Mike Von Erich. We don’t know who’s playing Chris Von Erich yet. Emmy Award nominee Lily James has joined the cast as well. The Sean Durkin written and directed movie will also have actors playing wrestlers Bruiser Brody and Harley Race. Famous production house A24 is financing this motion picture but it’s too early to speculate it’s release date as it’s presently filming.

Efron starred in the Baywatch reboot movie with The Rock in 2017.
