Sasha Banks’ issue with WWE

The latest news emerging from wrestling breaking news websites about the return of Sasha Banks and Naomi is not very promising. @NewsXero is reporting that there may be legal issues contributing to the delay in their comebacks, specifically, with Sasha Banks wanting the rights to her name. They have reported that Sasha wants to own her ring name and likeness.

On the RAW taping of May 16^th this year, the Women’s tag team champion duo of Sasha Banks and Naomi walked into Head of Talent Relations  John Laurinaitis’ office suitcases in hand, placed their titles on the table, and walked out on the show refusing even to compete in the main event they were scheduled for. WWE suspended them later and vacated the titles. The duo had cited some personal differences with the competition as well as the creative decisions taken with regard to their characters.

Since then, rumors have been going around predicting the dates and scenarios of their return, all proving to be wrong. There were also reports about them being present backstage during WWE tapings. However, they have since been spotted during the New York Fashion Week, walking the ramp, attending Hollywood premiers and Comic book conventions.

The aforementioned handle also mentions that WWE doesn’t allow anyone to own the rights to their ring names and that’s contract bound. Also that there has been no update regarding this situation in two weeks but Banks is still listed as a WWE star on their website.

However, it should be noted that she has changed her social media handles of Twitter and Instagram to her real name, that is Mercedes Varnado. Also, she has announced in public that these new handles were indeed her.

Verified accounts need up to 2 weeks to change their handles, which means she had done this 2 weeks prior. This could indicate what the WWE Universe has been fearing, her release. Naomi is still the same on social media but hasn’t returned either, like her compatriot.

Sasha has mentioned that she has intentions outside of WWE like music, fashion, and acting, and maybe her being so rebellious is her way out of WWE into other ventures.
